Of course, the total for that education varies and would have to include the non-loan amount necessary to finance the education, but it's nowhere near millions. The cost of a college education IS a problem, and really needs to be brought under some kind of control, especially when college graduates have such a difficult time getting a job that would allow them to pay back the student loan from the government. Student loans in the US, as far as I know, are still unforgivable in declarations of bankruptcy. I have a few friends here (Los Angeles) from Iceland, and they are pretty likeable people, so bravo Iceland.
